Julia and Aidan McDonald who own and run Church Bridge Stores and Bruton’s Post Office in Somerset have been recognised with the High Sheriff’s Special Recognition Award for ‘outstanding contribution to the community in Somerset and acts of thoughtfulness and kindness during the coronavirus pandemic of 2020’.

Over 3 lockdowns, Sayd Ahmed of Pappadoms Restaurant, Weston-super-Mare, has given over 14000 meals to vulnerable people and key workers in the town.
During this pandemic, he has guided refugees and succeeded in bringing vaccination to mosque, reassuring the Bangladeshi population of its safety.
